Norfolk  (folded ear) and Norwich (prick ear) Terriers were originally the same breed and were first bred in England. They were developed from crossing various small breeds of terriers and were used as farm dogs, vermin hunters and as fun-loving family pets.  Their short, double coat is hard and wiry and comes in all shades of red, wheaten, black and tan and grizzle. The ideal height is 10 inches high at the shoulders, the ideal weight is 11 - 12 lbs. Norfolks and Norwiches are powerful for their size and they will always announce the presence of strangers. They are not guard dogs, however, as friendliness is a dominant characteristic. These terriers are curious, sensitive, feisty and  hardy  little dogs. They are tough physically and long-lived. Regular exercise and grooming are required, a fenced yard is a necessity.  Because they are clever and learn quickly, early obedience and socialization is recommended. They have a loveable disposition,  make excellent family pets and get along well with other dogs and children.

All of our  dogs live in our home as our treasured house pets. We are dedicated dog lovers and conscientious breeders who strive for the betterment of the Norfolk and Norwich breeds, both as show and companion dogs .

Our premier stud dog Oliver, is literally taken off the couch or the bed to occasionally strut his stuff in the show ring.  All you have to say is 'Let's go to the Dog Show, Oliver!' and he leaps into the passenger seat with a single bound!

Oliver, as with most of our dogs, was lovingly owner-handled to his Canadian Championship.

Oliver is only the second Norfolk in Canadian history to win a Best in Show. Tessa was the first Norfolk Puppy to win Best Puppy in Show!

This handsome boy was successfully specialed by Jody Paquette and has had many Group placements in 2001, 2002 and 2003. Oliver  is a multi Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show winner and has been the top Norfolk Terrier in Canada for three years in a row!!

Peter's  Office Help - Oliver and Tessa

We met Cracker at our first Dog Show and she was our introduction to the world of Norfolk Terriers. It was love at first sight - we were totally smitten by this little red squirmy bundle of love. Clive and Mary Davies allowed her to come and live with us and through their guidance and support we not only acquired a most wonderfully affectionate and fun-loving companion but we discovered a new passion, the show ring. We continued to show Cracker ourselves and got the last four points she needed to become a Canadian Champion - we were hooked! We also found out how intelligent Norfolks could be when she came first on graduation night at obedience classes. After our move to the country we soon discovered Cracker was also an avid hunter - she loves nothing more than flat racing, lure coursing and go-to-ground activities.  Cracker is truly an all-round little Norfolk Terrier!
